Upon graduating with a master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University, she has pursued a career within the pediatric feeding population in various settings and with various disciplines. Her clinical experience has included treating complex feeding problems within the medically fragile population, treating behavioral and sensory based feeding disorders, and oral motor feeding issues from infancy to 15 years of age. She was afforded the opportunity to provide therapeutic interventions in the following settings: NICU, outpatient and inpatient rehab, dental office, private practice, and within the home. Kelsey values collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in regard to the treatment of feeding disorders and has worked closely with nurses, physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, IBCLCs, dentists, applied behavior analysts, and psychologists.
Kelsey’s extensive experience treating feeding complications with the breastfed infant influenced her further education, and she recently received her certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor. She is also pursuing her Certified Orofacial Myology (COM) certification through International Association of Orofacial Myology and is providing myofunctional therapy services within the greater New Orleans area. Finally, Kelsey is pursuing becoming a Board Certified Specialist in swallowing and swallowing disorders.
